About this collection

Find a favourite in Brian Carson’s photography

Sometimes a photograph makes you stop and look a little longer. Explore the Brian Carson photography collection and follow the details that catch your eye. It could be the composition, the light, or the feeling you get from the scene.

Choosing a photograph for your wall

Picture the image where you’d enjoy seeing it every day. A place beside a reading chair invites a closer look; a larger wall gives the whole composition more space.

Let the photograph guide the finish

Compare the sizes and print options listed for the photograph you choose. Keep the surrounding details simple if you’d like the image to be the first thing you notice.

Brian Carson Photography, answered

A few practical details for choosing your Brian Carson prints.

Who is Brian Carson?

Brian Carson is a Toronto photographer whose work focuses on black and white imagery. Choose a photograph you enjoy looking at, then select the size and material for where it will hang.

Which print material suits a bright room?

Gallery canvas has a semi-gloss finish with a soft sheen and is a good choice for a dry room facing windows or lamps. Framed canvas uses the same canvas surface with an outer frame. Even with fade-resistant inks, keep any print out of prolonged direct sun.

How do I choose a print size above furniture?

Around two-thirds of the furniture’s width is a useful starting point, not a strict rule. Above an 84-inch sofa, that means about 56 inches (142 cm) for the whole arrangement, including frames and any gaps. Mark it out on the wall and compare it with the available print sizes.

Can I change an artwork’s shape or orientation?

Each artwork is available in the shape and orientation shown. If you need a horizontal, vertical, or square piece, choose artwork already offered in that format, then select from its listed options.

Will my artwork arrive ready to hang?

Yes. Canvas and framed canvas arrive with a fitted sawtooth hanger, or wire and mounting hardware on larger sizes. HD metal has a hidden 1-inch rear frame that holds the artwork away from the wall.

Where are the prints made?

Every print is made to order in our Toronto, Ontario studio. We print, finish, check, and ship the artwork from there, with framing handled in-house where applicable.
